Are you addicted to high heels for the elevation they provide? (Paging Jessica Simpson!) Then you’ll love the new “skyscraper” heels by Romanian designer, Mihai Albu, so named because the towering sandals add 12 impressive inches to your height.

“Heels have an advantage because (many women) don’t have long legs,” Albu told the Associated Press. “They reposition the waist.”

The high heels are hand-crafted and cost about $1,525. One style features three wedge sandals that are stacked to make one very tall shoe. (See photo, left.)

Other styles feature chunky platforms and colorful rosettes. (More photos below.)

We love the height that these sandals would add to our frame, but we can’t help asking a silly question — how is anybody supposed to be walk in these things?

Never mind, fashion has never been about function anyways.

If you hurry, you can own a piece of Oprah — her closet, anyway. From March 1 – 11, the talk show maven is auctioning off her previously used clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories.

Check out Oprah’s whole collection on eBay.

Each item has a starting bid of $100. Just three hours after bidding opened today, a red Carolina Herrera dress that Oprah has worn on the show was already up to $810, and there’s more than a week left in the auction!

All proceeds from the sales will go towards financing the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa.

Jennifer Lopez donned a black, strapless mini-dress from Marc Jacobs’ Spring/Summer 2009 ready-to-wear collection for Louis Vuitton to attend a book party for her makeup artist, Scott Barnes, in New York on Wednesday night.

She wore the dress with a pair of Satin d’Orsay Années Folles heels from the Christian Louboutin Spring 2010 collection, and finished her look with a small, black clutch.

Below, see how it was styled for the runway.

So who do you think rocked the red carpet at the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards?

I’ve always been a fan of simple and sleek lines, bright colors and great accessories.  I’m all about “less is more”. That seemed to be the theme a lot of designers and celebrities liked too.

Maybe the classic lines and understated details are reaction to these tough economic times. Whatever the reason, this was a very well-dressed group!

I decided to use video instead of pictures, so I’ve linked to a bunch of TV Guide video interviews from last night’s red carpet. You can see them all on TV Guide’s YouTube channel.

Check them out.  Yes, there are some stars and great looks that are missing.

However, if your favorite isn’t here. Let me know who it is!

Christian Siriano fans! Rejoice!

The word on the street is his SS10 show was fierce!  However, are we surprised by this?

We discovered him when he was a contestant on the Project Runway.  During that show he came off as fierce as his designs.

The great thing about Siriano’s work is the range of what he’s creates.  You can find his designs in high end department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue but also in budget conscious shoe stores like Payless Shoe Source.

The buzz is that Christian truly came into his own with this collection and matured with this collection.

His Spring 2010 collection was inspired by Mediterranean travel.  Many of the pieces in this collection were made with an aerial shot of the Italian coast in both ocean blue and fire red.  I liked the colors more than the neutrals.

However, this shimmery tan suit caught my eye.  I think it’s just lovely.

My favorite pieces were the vibrant blues like this beautiful flouncy dress:

Very nice work Christian!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

You can see more shots from Christian’s SS10 show on, at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week site or here:

I’m partial to these great ankle boots from last season!

There’s a certain time in between seasons before you trade your sandals for your fall and winter boots.  This is normally when the classic ballet flats come in.  They are perfect for the transition into fall and can be worn when it is still warm out and cover your toes when the weather begins to cool down. There are many versions of the ballet flat, but below are some of my favorites under $100.

Just like the little black dress, every woman needs a pair of basic black flats.  The Kobraa from Steve Madden in Black Patent ($49.99)  has always been my choice for a comfortable yet chic look.  The thing I love most about this style is that it also comes in gold, snakeskin, and many other colors and patterns.

A little embellishment is a great look for these stylish shoes.  Here is another great pair by Steve Madden.  The Kazler in Pewter ($89.95) is a fun choice to jazz up an outfit.

You can never go wrong with metallic… especially with these Minx Metallic pair from Topshop ($50).

The zippered flower detail on this pair of Madden Girl Jasper flats ($39.95) adds edge to the feminine shoe.  Affordable price + fashion forward style = perfection.

The best thing about fashion? No one can predict which styles will die a quick (often merciful) death and which will follow us around for years. Witness Uggs, leggings, and, just to be seasonally appropriate, gladiator sandals.

Gladiator sandals have grown on us, mostly because the styles you see on the street are modified from the runway styles that frightened the children last year. Still, remember whose legs you’re dressing here: Models can wear knee-high sandals, because they’re genetic freaks. Mere mortals like us? We need to make sure we pick styles that flatter our gams.

There trendy gladiator sandals will keep you in step with style and not make your legs look stumpy.

1. Anni Gladiator Sandal by Madeline

Update last year’s summer wardrobe with these wearable, chic sandals. The snake-skin print makes them very of-the-moment. (No actual snakes were harmed in the making of these shoes.)

2. Spartacus Sandals by ModCloth Inc

The buckles on these Roman-inspired gladiator sandals make them extra comfy for wide feet. As an added bonus? They’re vegan friendly.

3. Madden Girl Sicilliy

Not totally in love with the gladiator sandal silhouette? These simple black gladiator-inspired sandals give a hint of trendiness without overwhelming your summer work attire.

4. Baby Phat Amber

Then again, sometimes you just want to dress up. These blinged out gladiator sandals from Baby Phat come in gold or silver and will definitely get you noticed.

5. Women’s Mossimo Petrova Gladiator Sandals

Got short stems? These heeled gladiator sandals are flattering to the most petite figure and comfy enough to wear all day long.
