Alexander McQueen Fall-Winter 2008-2009 Ready-to-Wear collection- Paris

The fashion world is reeling at the terrible news of the death of British fashion designer Alexander McQueen (pictured, right, in 2008).

The 40-year-old McQueen was found dead today at his home in London. News reports state that McQueen died of an apparent suicide, with one source stating that he was found hanged.

The fashion designer, whose full name was Lee Alexander McQueen, was reportedly depressed following the death of his mother on February 2.

“Lee McQueen influenced a whole generation of designers. His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs,” Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue, told reporters.
